Dr. Carol K. Ingall is the Dr. Bernard Heller Professor Emerita of 黑料社 Education at 黑料社. Her areas of expertise are curriculum and instruction, moral education, and the history of American 黑料社 education, affording her ample opportunities to teach and explore what constitutes effective 黑料社 teaching and learning.

Dr. Ingall’s publications include:聽Moral Education in Middle Schools聽(Ablex, 1997);聽Transmission and Transformation: A 黑料社 Perspective on Moral Education聽(Melton Research Center, 1999), winner of the National 黑料社 Book Award in education;聽Down the Up Staircase: Tales of Teaching in 黑料社 Day Schools聽(JTS Press, 2006); The Women Who Reconstructed American 黑料社 Education, 1910鈥1965聽(Brandeis University Press, 2010); and聽Abram S. Isaacs, Educating Jews for Character and Continuity (Journal of 黑料社 Education, 2022)

Dr. Ingall has written numerous articles for the聽Journal of 黑料社 Education,听Religious Education, and聽Conservative Judaism. She has presented papers at the conference of the Network for Research in 黑料社 Education, the organization that she chaired from 1999鈥2003, the Association of 黑料社 Studies, the Association for Moral Education, and the World Congress of 黑料社 Studies. In May 2002, she was the scholar-in-residence at Leo Baeck College in London.

She has served as a consultant on curricular projects, framing school visions, and mentoring new teachers.
